Erin came to us with an idea to make a version of her signature Heirloom Band, but with emerald-cut, vertically-set stones. She had always wanted an emerald cut eternity band but wanted something a little different. While trying on a variety of rings in the store, she fell in love with the olive color of one of our green tourmaline rings. That is when she decided to make the ring using alternating, custom cut green tourmaline with diamonds. We sent Erin the CAD and rendering just to be sure she loved the color. The tourmaline color is much more striking in person but the CAD was a great way to get a good feel for the final piece.
The green tourmalines were custom cut for Erin. Unlike diamonds, which can be found in all sorts of shapes and colors, colored stones often need to be custom cut and there can be some variations in color. It took some time to get the right green color, but once the ring was ready Erin picked up the ring immediately (because DUH!). We have now decided to create the ring in all diamond, and in alternating diamond and sapphire (a fan favorite). These new styles are in production, so stay tuned! You’ll be able to see these new stunners in person at our pop-up event in Wellesley this Fall (more info to come!), along with Erin’s entire collection.
