Storrow Jewelry was founded by Jennifer Koche, a fine jewelry buyer for luxury retailers with over 10-years of experience. Traveling across the world, she sought after heirloom pieces at antique fairs and stores like the ones passed down to her from her grandmothers and mother. Her findings would then provide her with inspiration for unique and special pieces of her own design. This was how Storrow came to be. Fun fact for our Boston people: Jennifer is also a Boston University Alum!

Read our Q&A below to learn more about Jennifer and see why we’re super excited to to have her jewelry back in Boston and in our store.

What is the inspiration behind your brand?

Victorian antique jewelry. I’ve always had a particular liking for this Era’s jewelry and have been inspired by pieces I’ve found over the years. The quality and design detail of this Era was truly phenomenal and I wanted that to be echoed into all the pieces in my line.

Is there any Boston influence?

There is, actually! There’s an amazing yellow gold coin pendant with gemstone surrounding that I found when I was in college. I found it from a little antique store on Charles Street. It has always been one of my most treasured pieces. I took inspiration from the construction of it and reflected into parts of my medallions.

When did your love of jewelry/jewelry design begin?

Oh, boy. For as long as I can remember, it’s always been something I’ve loved. My mom used to take me antique shopping when I was really young, and I loved scouring with her to find those one of a kind special pieces. Since then, it’s always something that I’ve loved personally, and I’m grateful that I could turn it into a career. I have been a jewelry buyer for 13 years now for retailers, and have now segued into being a designer of my own collection which has always been a dream.

What has been the most rewarding aspect of your job as a jewelry designer and what has been the most challenging?

Sometimes the things that are dreamt up in my head don’t fully come out as I intend to execute. There’s a few designs I was so excited about, but then in reality they became my least favorite when seeing them in person.

Who would you describe as the “Storrow” customer?

A customer that has their own sense of style, appreciates construction and detail and just has fun with their jewelry. The customer that wears their jewelry daily! Also a customer that’s not afraid to pile it on and experiment.

What do you see happening next for your brand?

I’ve been super focused on charms, and necklaces, and I’ve most recently gotten a bit into rings. I’m excited to be able to spread into other categories such as earrings!

We love that the charms can be taken on and off necklaces and bracelets with ease. Wear one charm or wear them all! Interested in Storrow Jewelry pieces? Text us at 617-292-0079 or shop our site. We think you’ll love these pieces as much as we do!
