Neighborhood Love

M. Flynn loves the South End and feels so lucky to be surrounded by some of the best independently owned businesses in the City of Boston. Here’s Megan and Moria’s advice on where to go in this creative neighborhood!

Where do you go for your home?

I love Hudson. Jill has a great eye and she’s very creative and fun to work with. I am always going into Lekker too. Between those two stores, the home is covered.

Where do you go for a date night?

My husband and I only go to Meyers & Chang. We always say we are going to try something new but always end up going back. We love to eat at the bar and watch the kitchen.

Where do you go for the best lunch?

I grab lunch at either Fromaggio Kitchen for a good sandwich toasted or Pita for roll ups. If I have more time, I love the lobster roll at B&G. It reminds me of Maine. We also try to get to the Gallows because they have a good burger.

Where do you buy gifts?

I really love Patch NYC. Wine is always a great gift and I buy a lot at Urban Grape and Brix.

Where’s the best hardware store?

Warren Hardware is the best and it’s also located very close to Blackbird Donuts.

Best place to buy a gift?

Olives & Grace has the best funny cards and good handmade gifts. We have good cards at our store but its just not as thoughtful to give cards from your own store. I also go to Flock where Dani stocks great T-shirts and fun accessories. I always find fun things at Patch NYC and their candles are a staple.

Where I go for date night?

My husband and I love Stella. They have such a good Bolognese.

Where’s the best lunch?

If I can sit down and grab a glass of wine, I love Aquitaine. If I am on the go, I go to the Buttery market for their Kale salad and Lemon Chicken.

Where do you buy kids clothes and Gifts?

I shop at Tadpole, Kodomo and CouCou. We have such good places in the South End to buy special gifts for new babies and kids.
